The Beneplan Co-operative is a buying group for employee benefits, established in 1989. Member-owners consist of Canadian small & medium employers. Owners are paid patronage dividends based on the excess profit that the co-operative recovers from efficient purchasing, using its clout as the size of a Fortune-500 firm. Owners are also entitled to some of the lowest fees in Canada and other tangible benefits of being part of a buying group, such obtaining HR advice from a CHRP, and access to pharmacogenetics as part of their benefit plan. Beneplan works with insurance companies for claims payment, and distributes membership across Canada.
